in thinking about purchasing a Buffalo 500GB external hard drive, could someone tell me if the buffalo are reliable and good?

Does this mean that connects the external device Buffalo NAS - It is a hard drive, but has an Ethernet port to the network.

Personally I like the Synology DS-Series 2XX 3XX, etc., because it integrated iTunes, Samba (of course), Bittorrent, web servers (including audio sound card). They are somewhat more expensive, and you must buy your own hard disk and put in Buffalo come with hard drives. You can also use Windows for a cheap price, but with a hard disk of 250 GB if you want nases - VMware to install Linux applications

They are good, but only if you have a gigabit switch with gigabit network card in your PC.
